THE HAUNTED To Record Third CD In May/June!
February 13, 2002Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED have finished writing seven new songs and are aiming to complete another five for their forthcoming third full-length CD, which is tentatively scheduled to be recorded during May/June for an October release through Earache Records. According to bassist Jonas Björler, “judging by the sound of the new material, you can all expect a mixture between the 1st and the 2nd CD (of course with some new elements added).” The as-yet-untitled effort will be the follow-up to the acclaimed The Haunted Made Me Do It CD (2000),which was widely hailed as one of the best thrash releases of the last several years.
In other news, THE HAUNTED will be embarking on their first-ever tour of Mexico next week when they're scheduled to play Mexico City on February 23rd and Guadalajara on February 24th (on a bill that will also feature WITCHERY, BEHEMOTH and TO/DIE/FOR).
THE HAUNTED are still seeking a replacement for departed guitarist Anders Björler, who left the group last September due to “personal” reasons. Although Marcus Sunesson of THE CROWN filled in on second guitar during the group's subsequent headlining US tour, it is not clear if he will be joining the act on their upcoming Mexican jaunt.
